Are you a student of BSW or MSW seeking meaningful field experience in rural development and grassroots social work? PRATEEKSHA, a pioneering NGO registered in 1998, invites applications for its Social Work Internship Program, open to students from all recognized institutes across India.
We operate in Odisha and Chhattisgarh, implementing a wide range of development projects funded by NABARD and various State Government departments, including:
Women Empowerment through SHG formation
Livelihood Support & Skill Training
Plantation & Environmental Sustainability
Safe Drinking Water Initiatives
Rural Education & Capacity Building
Implementation Support Agency (ISA) for Jal Jeevan Mission across 13 districts in Chhattisgarh

Duration
Minimum 3 months, extendable based on performance and project requirements
π Eligibility
Students currently pursuing Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW)
Must submit a consent letter from their college/university
π Facilities Provided
Free Residential Accommodation at the project site
Note: Fooding and other personal expenses will be borne by the candidate

π οΈ Internship Structure: Rural Field Work
Interns will be immersed in real-world social work across diverse rural settings, contributing to impactful community projects. Key areas of engagement include:
1. Community Mobilization & Awareness
Organizing village-level meetings and awareness drives
Facilitating group discussions on health, sanitation, education, and livelihood
Promoting behavioral change through participatory methods
2. SHG Formation & Capacity Building
Assisting in the identification and formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs)
Supporting training sessions on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and group dynamics
Monitoring SHG activities and documenting progress
3. Livelihood & Skill Development
Coordinating vocational training programs in tailoring, handicrafts, agriculture, and allied sectors
Engaging with beneficiaries to assess needs and track outcomes
Supporting market linkage and income generation initiatives
4. Jal Jeevan Mission Support (ISA Role)
Conducting baseline surveys and household-level data collection
Facilitating community participation in water supply schemes
Assisting in IEC (Information, Education & Communication) activities
Monitoring implementation and preparing field reports
5. Environmental & Educational Outreach
Participating in plantation drives and environmental education campaigns
Supporting remedial education and life skills sessions for children and youth
Engaging with schools and local institutions to promote sustainable practices
